GWM Funky Cat Price Guide

typical price 14 October, 2026
The GWM Ora Funky Cat was one of the first Chinese electric cars sold in the UK. It was a memorable one too: a retro-styled compact hatchback that generated considerable attention for its distinctive exterior design and competitive pricing when it launched in 2023. The Funky Cat used a 48kWh battery and 171bhp motor for approximately 193 miles of WLTP range, positioned as an affordable EV alternative to the MINI Electric and Fiat 500e.
The Car
The Funky Cat used a 48kWh lithium-ion battery with a single front-mounted electric motor producing 171bhp. The retro styling (round headlamps, curved bodywork, and a distinctive face) was praised for its personality in a segment where most competitors look anonymous. Available in First Edition, GT, and standard specifications. The 193-mile WLTP range was competitive but not class-leading. 67kW DC fast charging took approximately 45 minutes from 15–80%.
GWM is the Great Wall Motor Company, one of China’s largest vehicle manufacturers.
Buying
The Funky Cat has been discontinued in the UK market, but early examples are available used at competitive prices. The retro styling gives it more character than most affordable EVs. Battery health should be verified on used examples. The GWM dealer network in the UK was limited so verify local service access before purchase.
