GWM Price Guide

GWM is one of the more established Chinese automotive brands in Western markets, having exported vehicles internationally since the mid-2000s. If you are trying to establish what your GWM vehicle is worth, the answer depends significantly on which market you are in – the brand has a well-developed used market in Australia and parts of the Middle East where it has been sold for over a decade, but in the UK and most of Europe the used market is still shallow and residual values are in the process of being established.

What Affects GWM Values

Brand recognition is the biggest contextual factor. In markets where GWM and its Haval sub-brand are well known, used values follow standard patterns driven by mileage, condition, and specification. In the UK, where brand awareness is still developing, used values tend to be lower than for equivalent European or Japanese models – which means strong buying opportunities for those comfortable with the brand but slower returns for sellers.

Full GWM dealer service history matters more than with established brands because it provides the reassurance buyers need when considering an unfamiliar marque. The generous warranty provision (typically five or seven years depending on the model and market) transfers to subsequent owners and is a meaningful selling point.

The Range

The Haval-branded SUVs are the most commonly encountered GWM products in Western markets. The Haval H6, a mid-size SUV, is the volume model and competes on value against the Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tucson. The Ora Funky Cat (now simply Ora 03 in some markets) is GWM’s electric offering and a genuinely distinctive small car with retro-modern styling that has attracted attention, though used values have followed the broader pattern of steeper EV depreciation. The Tank sub-brand targets the off-road and adventure market with larger, more rugged SUVs. In the UK specifically, GWM’s range is still limited and the dealer network is small, which constrains both supply and demand on the used market. As the brand continues to expand its European presence and build a longer track record, residual values are likely to improve.
