Geely EX5 Price Guide

typical price 14 October, 2026

The Geely EX5 is the car that brings one of the world’s largest automotive groups to the UK market under its own name. It is a mid-sized all-electric SUV from the company that owns Volvo, Polestar, Lotus, Smart, and LEVC (the London black cab manufacturer). The EX5 arrives with a 60.2kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, 218bhp, and a starting price that undercuts virtually every comparable electric SUV in the UK market. It is the opening move in what Geely intends to be a comprehensive UK product offensive.

The Car

The EX5 uses Geely’s own GEA platform with a single front-mounted motor producing 218bhp and a 60.2kWh LFP battery providing up to 267 miles of WLTP range. DC fast charging at up to 160kW brings 30–80% in approximately 20 minutes. The interior features a 15.4-inch central touchscreen running Geely’s Flyme OS, a 10.2-inch digital cluster, and materials that reviewers have described as genuinely premium for the price point; padded surfaces, faux-leather seats, and wood-grain trim. Five-star Euro NCAP safety rating. Chassis tuning was developed in collaboration with Lotus Engineering in Norfolk.

What to Know

The 267-mile WLTP range is competitive but not class-leading and there is no long-range battery option for buyers who need more. Real-world range on mixed routes will be approximately 200–230 miles in warm conditions and 170–200 miles in winter. The single battery-and-motor configuration keeps the range simple but limits choice. Boot space at 410 litres is below the Skoda Enyaq and Kia EV5. The lane-keeping assist and speed-limit warnings have been criticised by UK reviewers as overly intrusive. Geely’s UK dealer network is new and expanding so local service accessibility is worth confirming before purchase.

Buying

The EX5’s value proposition is its defining strength — a well-equipped, well-built electric SUV at a price that undercuts established European and Korean alternatives by thousands of pounds. The Lotus-tuned ride and handling are notably better than most Chinese competitors at this price. For buyers who charge at home and whose daily patterns fit within the 267-mile range, the EX5 is one of the most rational new electric car purchases available. Geely
