Ford Ranchero Price Guide

typical price 13 October, 2026

The Ford Ranchero was the original coupe utility, a car-based pickup launched in 1957 that preceded the Chevrolet El Camino by two years and proved that American buyers would accept a pickup with car comfort and styling. Six generations ran from 1957 to 1979, sharing platforms progressively with the Fairlane, Torino, and full-sized Ford range.

The Car

The Ranchero used whatever intermediate or full-sized Ford platform was current; the 1957–1959 cars used the full-sized Ford body, the 1960–1965 used the Falcon compact, and the 1967–1979 used the Fairlane/Torino intermediate. The 1970–1971 Ranchero GT with the 351 Cleveland is the most driver-focused specification. The Ranchero Squire with its simulated wood panelling is the most characterful.

Buying

The 1970–1971 GT with the 351 Cleveland is the performance choice. Load bed condition matters as much as body condition.
