The Ford GT nameplate covers two very different modern supercars united by the same heritage. Named after the mid-engined racing car that won Le Mans in 1966, both generations of the Ford GT have been the pinnacle of the marque’s sporting aspirations. The first modern GT of 2005–2006 used a 550bhp supercharged V8; the second-generation GT of 2017–2022 used a 647bhp twin-turbo V6 derived from Ford’s EcoBoost racing programme. Both are produced in extremely limited numbers for selected customers.
Buying
Both GTs are investment-grade supercars. The second generation required a customer application process and contractual resale restrictions. Authentication through Ford Heritage is essential.
