The Ford Granada replaced the Zephyr and Zodiac in 1972 and took the pedestal as the make’s flagship executive saloon. It was the first car developed jointly by Ford of Britain and Ford of Germany under the new Ford of Europe organisation. Three generations carried the Granada from a conventional rear-wheel-drive saloon to the Scorpio that replaced it in 1985. The Mk 1 introduced V6 power; the Mk 3 brought fuel injection and sophistication.
