Ford Cougar Price Guide

The Ford Cougar of 1998 to 2002 was a coupe that Ford of Europe built on the Mondeo platform. It was a front-wheel-drive coupe with the 2.5-litre Duratec V6 producing 170bhp that offered genuine style and reasonable performance at a price substantially below the BMW 3 Series Coupe. The Cougar was a commercial disappointment but a better car than its sales might have suggested.

Buying

The 2.5 V6 is the recommended specification. The 2.0 Zetec is adequate but lacks the V6’s character. Depreciation was extreme; the Cougar is excellent value right now, sitting in the no-mans-land of old cars not considered classics.
