The Fiat Bravo of 2007 was a creditable compact hatchback that competed with the Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf without ever quite achieving their dynamics or their quality reputation. The 1.4 Turbo MultiAir 140 is the most interesting petrol, the 1.6 Multijet 120 the practical diesel. Production ended in 2014 without a replacement.
The Car
The Bravo used 1.4 Turbo, 1.6, and 1.8 petrol engines alongside 1.6 and 1.9 Multijet diesels. The MultiAir valve control system on the 1.4 Turbo 140 provided genuine performance at reasonable economy. The five-door hatchback was the only body style. The Bravo was better than its commercial failure suggested; competent, well-equipped, and overlooked by buyers who defaulted to the established German alternatives.
Buying
The 1.4 Turbo MultiAir is the specification worth seeking. The 1.6 Multijet is the diesel recommendation. The Bravo has depreciated to very accessible prices.
