The Ferrari SF90 Stradale of 2020 is Ferrari’s most powerful production road car; a 986bhp plug-in hybrid combining a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with three electric motors (two at the front, one integrated with the gearbox), providing all-wheel drive and electric-only front-wheel drive capability. It is also the most technologically complex Ferrari ever sold to the public, with electronic systems of a sophistication that rivals a Le Mans prototype.

The Car

The 3,990cc twin-turbo V8 produces 769bhp; the three electric motors add 217bhp for that headline-grabbing 986bhp total. The front electric motors provide torque vectoring between the front wheels. Electric-only range is approximately 15 miles at up to 84mph. The eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox has no reverse gear so the electric motor provides reverse drive. The eManettino covers eDrive, Hybrid, Performance, and Qualify modes. 0–62mph in 2.5 seconds. A SF90 Stradale Assetto Fiorano deleted weight aggressively for track use.

Buying

The SF90 is the benchmark against which all other hypercars are measured on performance. The Assetto Fiorano is the track specification. Battery health over time is the key long-term question.
