Ferrari Dino 308 Price Guide
-
typical price 13 October, 2026
The Dino 308 GT4 of 1973–1980 was the first Ferrari – sorry, Dino! – to use a V8 engine, and the first to use a body by Bertone rather than Pininfarina. The 2+2 layout placed it in a different market to the two-seat 246 GT it accompanied. Bertone’s angular styling divided opinion then and now; the Colombo-derived 3.0-litre twin-cam V8 in transverse mid-engine configuration proved the template for the 308 GTB that followed.
The Car
The 308 GT4 used a 2,926cc V8 with twin overhead cams per bank producing 255bhp. The rear seats are genuinely usable for children, making the GT4 the most practical mid-engined Ferrari of its era. The later 208 GT4 used a 2.0-litre V8 for the Italian market where engine displacement affected taxation. The Dino badge was replaced by Ferrari badging from 1976. Around 2,826 GT4s were produced.
Buying
The 308 GT4 is consistently undervalued relative to the 246 and the 308 GTB. The Bertone body has never achieved the same acclaim, but the driving experience is similar and the 2+2 practicality is genuine. The Ferrari badge from 1976 cars is the specification to seek.
