Ferrari 275 Price Guide

The Ferrari 275 of 1964 to 1968 was the successor to the 250 family and the first Ferrari road car to use independent rear suspension. This was a technical step that transformed the car’s handling and elevated it from the 250’s compromised rear-axle behaviour to something approaching a genuine sports car in the modern sense. The 275 GTB/4 with its four-cam V12 is the definitive version; the 275 GTS spider is the open alternative.

The Cars

The 275 GTB used a 3,286cc version of the Colombo V12 producing 260bhp in twin-cam form. The 275 GTB/4 of 1966, with its four-overhead-camshaft engine producing 300bhp and individual throttle bodies, is the performance and collector’s peak. It was the car that bridged the 250 GTO era and the Daytona that followed. The 275 GTS open spider used the same chassis with a Pininfarina body; fewer than 200 were produced. A 275 GTB/4 NART Spider (commissioned by Luigi Chinetti’s North American Racing Team, ten built) is among the most valuable open Ferraris ever made.

Buying

The 275 GTB/4 is a serious collector’s investment. The two-cam 275 GTB offers the same essential character at lower cost. Ferrari Classiche certification is essential for any 275 purchase as the number of misrepresented 275s in the market makes independent expert inspection mandatory.
