Ferrari 208 Price Guide

The Ferrari 208 GTB and GTS were the Italian-market versions of the 308. They used a 1,991cc V8 to stay below Italy’s punishing displacement tax threshold, first in normally aspirated form producing 170bhp, then from 1982 in turbocharged form producing 220bhp. The 208 Turbo is the interesting car: the first turbocharged road Ferrari, using a KKK turbocharger in a package that transformed the modest normally-aspirated 208 into something genuinely quick.
The Car
The 208 GTB launched in 1975 alongside the 308 GTB, sharing the same Pininfarina body and chassis but with the reduced displacement V8. The Turbo conversion from 1982 added 50bhp over the normally-aspirated car, taking the 208 to a level of performance approaching the 308. The 208 GTS targa followed the same development path. These are Italian-market curiosities; rare outside Italy and offering the 308’s appearance and layout with either modest performance or the Turbo’s more interesting character.
Buying
The 208 Turbo is the specification worth seeking. The first turbocharged Ferrari road car is a historically significant specification. The normally-aspirated 208 offers little that the 308 doesn’t do better.
