The Ferrari 12Cilindri is the current front-engined V12 coupe, the successor to the 812 Superfast and the latest expression of Ferrari’s commitment to the naturally-aspirated twelve-cylinder engine as the company begins its electrification journey. The 12Cilindri uses an 830bhp version of the 6.5-litre V12 in a body by Ferrari’s design centre that references the GT cars of the 1950s and 1960s more explicitly than its predecessor.
The Car
The 12Cilindri uses the same 6,496cc V12 as the 812 Superfast in developed form. It now produces 830bhp at 9,500rpm, which is the highest output naturally-aspirated V12 production engine ever produced. This power is delivered via an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox with all-wheel steering. The body is available as a coupe and as a Spider convertible with fabric roof. Both are two-seaters; the departure from the 612 and 456’s 2+2 configuration signals a return to the car’s sporting rather than grand touring focus.
Buying
The 12Cilindri forms part of Ferrari’s current production range. It represents what Ferrari believes the front-engined V12 should be at the peak of the naturally-aspirated era, before electrification arrives. Values are firm.
