Dodge Viper Generation / Variant Price Guides

The Dodge Viper is the most extreme production car America has produced. It consists of an 8.0-litre V10 squeezed into a car with no traction control, no ABS, side exhausts that burn the unwary, and handling that rewards only the skilled and punishes everyone else. From the original 1992 concept that went into production largely unchanged to the final 2017 cars, the Viper never apologised for what it was.

The Generations

The SR1 (1992–1995) was the original; the SR2 (1996–2001) added the GTS coupe; the ZB1 (2003–2006) updated and improved. Each generation used variations of the 488 or 505 cubic inch (8.0-litre) V10 in progressively more developed form.

Buying

The Viper is not a car for inexperienced owners. The V10 is robust but all service must be performed by specialists with Viper knowledge. The side exhausts genuinely make exit from the car a burn risk unless care is taken.
