Dodge Price Guide

Dodge is one of the defining names in American muscle car culture, and that identity drives a significant part of the used market. Whether you are trying to value a classic 1960s muscle car or a recently discontinued Challenger, the performance and character of the car matter as much as the standard used car metrics. Dodge buyers know what they want, and they will pay for it when the specification is right.

What Affects Dodge Values

Engine specification is the single most important variable across the classic and modern range alike. The Hemi V8 – in its original 426 form from the 1960s and in the revived 5.7 and 6.4-litre forms of the 2000s onwards – carries a consistent premium in any Dodge it is fitted to. In the classic market, documented matching numbers are essential for achieving top prices. In the modern market, the specific variant (R/T, Scat Pack, SRT Hellcat, Demon) drives the price hierarchy. Manual gearboxes add value where available.

Classic Muscle Cars

The late 1960s and early 1970s represent the golden era of Dodge collecting. The Charger – particularly the 1968-1970 fastback shape made famous by the Dukes of Hazzard and Bullitt-era culture – is one of the most iconic American car shapes ever made and values for correct, numbers-matching examples are strong. The Challenger from 1970 is equally revered. The 426 Hemi is the ultimate engine option and verified Hemi cars command a substantial premium. The Dart and Demon compact muscle cars have a dedicated following. The Viper (1992-2017), Dodge’s hand-built V10 supercar, occupies its own collector space with values now rising from their depreciation floor.

Modern Challenger and Charger

The 2008-2023 Challenger and 2006-2023 Charger concluded production recently, and awareness is already growing among collectors and enthusiasts that these were the last traditional American muscle cars. The SRT Hellcat (707 bhp) and Hellcat Redeye (797 bhp) variants are the most desirable and are holding their values well. The limited-production Demon (840 bhp) and Demon 170 (1,025 bhp) are already collector cars. Even standard R/T and Scat Pack cars are benefiting from the end-of-production effect as buyers recognise the cultural moment they represent.

Trucks and SUVs

The Dodge truck heritage, now carried by Ram as a separate brand, has a strong collector following in the classic pickup market. The muscle-era D-series trucks and the first and second-generation Dakota performance pickups have their own enthusiast communities. The Durango SUV, still in production, offers strong used value for a capable, V8-powered alternative to more mainstream crossovers.
