Citroen Rosalie Price Guide

The Citroën Rosalie of 1932–1938 was the final conventional Citroën. This is the last model produced before the revolutionary Traction Avant arrived in 1934 and changed everything. The Rosalie name covered a range of models from the small 8CV to the large 15CV, and these were the cars that sustained the company financially as the Traction Avant entered production.

The Car

The Rosalie used Citroën’s development of the float-tooth gear and floating power engine mounting; innovative details that reduced noise and vibration significantly. The name was popularised by a record-breaking endurance run at Montlhéry autodrome in 1933, where a Rosalie covered 300,000km in 134 days. Available in multiple engine sizes and body styles. The Rosalie was sold alongside the Traction Avant as Citroën’s conventional alternative while customers adjusted to the new model’s radical design.

Buying

The Rosalie is an accessible inter-war Citroën with reasonable parts support through the Citroën Car Club. The float-tooth gears require correct lubrication. Any complete, running example is a worthwhile preservation project.
