Citroen Lomax Price Guide

The Citroën Lomax is a kit car based on 2CV and Dyane mechanicals. It is a three or four-wheeled open sports car that uses the flat-twin engine and running gear in a body evoking the Morgan three-wheeler. Built by Lomax Motor Company in the UK from 1983, it provides 2CV economy and simplicity in a more extrovert package.

The Car

The Lomax uses the 2CV’s floor pan, engine, gearbox, and suspension with a fibreglass or cycle-winged body in three-wheeler or four-wheeler configuration. The three-wheeled Lambda used a single rear wheel for motorcycle registration; the 224 used four wheels. The 602cc 2CV6 engine provides adequate performance given the Lomax’s minimal weight. Build quality varies significantly depending on the original constructor.

Buying

Inspect build quality carefully; a well-constructed Lomax is entertaining and practical, a poorly built one is neither. 2CV parts availability provides excellent mechanical support. The Lomax register and Citroën 2CV Car Club are the best resources.
