Citroen Dyane Price Guide

The Citroën Dyane was the car that was supposed to replace the 2CV. It was intended to be a more practical, more modern hatchback using 2CV mechanicals in a taller, more versatile body that could accommodate four adults and their luggage. It failed in its purpose because the 2CV refused to be replaced, but the Dyane found its own devoted following as a practical, characterful alternative.

The Car

Designed by Louis Bionier and introduced in 1967, the Dyane used the 2CV’s flat-twin engine (425cc or 602cc) in a four-door body with a full-width tailgate; making it one of the first hatchbacks in the European market. The seating was adjustable and removable in multiple configurations. The Acadiane van variant used the Dyane body with a box rear. The Dyane 6 with the 602cc engine is the most usable and most sought-after variant.

Buying

The Dyane 6 is the specification to seek. Rust attacks the lower body as on all Citroëns of the era. The 2CV drivetrain is simple and well-supported. The Dyane is generally less expensive than an equivalent 2CV despite offering more practicality; a market anomaly which can save buyers not overly concerned with badging.
