The Citroën Acadiane was a light van based on the Dyane, a practical commercial vehicle using the Dyane’s body and 2CV flat-twin engine to provide a small, economical delivery van of considerable charm. It was the farm van, the florist’s van, and the market gardener’s van across France for nearly a decade.
The Car
Produced from 1978 to 1987, the Acadiane used the 602cc 2CV6 engine in a box-van body derived from the Dyane with a revised rear section providing a flat load floor and large hinged rear doors. The ABS plastic elements of the Dyane were retained. Load capacity was around 400kg. The Acadiane is mechanically identical to the 2CV and Dyane, sharing all drivetrain components.
Buying
The Acadiane is the lightest and most endearing light commercial vehicle from any manufacturer of its era. The 2CV drivetrain provides complete parts support. Rust affects the steel body despite the ABS panels.
