Chrysler Imperial Generation / Variant Price Guides

The Chrysler Imperial was Chrysler’s attempt to compete with Cadillac and Lincoln in the full-luxury segment. It was a nameplate that appeared intermittently as both a Chrysler model and a standalone marque across four decades. In its finest years the Imperial offered a level of craftsmanship and design ambition that genuinely challenged the GM and Ford luxury flagships.

The Range

The Imperial name covered Chrysler’s flagship models from 1926, becoming a standalone brand from 1955 to 1975 before reverting to the Chrysler range. The 1957–1963 Imperial in Exner’s Forward Look styling is the most dramatically designed American luxury car of the era.

Buying

The late 1950s and early 1960s Imperials are the collector’s priority; extreme Forward Look styling, genuine craftsmanship, and rarity relative to Cadillac equivalents. The WPC Club and the Imperial Owners Club are the primary resources.
