BYD Sealion 7 Price Guide
-
typical price 14 October, 2026
The BYD Sealion 7 is the largest pure-electric SUV in the BYD UK range. It comes in the form of a mid-large SUV and competes with the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and Volkswagen ID.5 in the premium electric crossover segment. It uses the same e-Platform 3.0 underpinnings as the Seal saloon but in a more practical SUV body with genuine five-seat space and a large boot.
The Car
The Sealion 7 uses BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 with Blade Battery technology and dual electric motors for all-wheel drive. Power outputs and range figures put it directly against the Hyundai Ioniq 5 AWD and the Volkswagen ID.5 GTX. The exterior uses BYD’s Dragon Face design language with sweeping LED lighting. The interior prioritises space, rear headroom and legroom are generous by class standards, and the boot is practical without the intrusions of under-floor charging equipment found in some competitors. Vehicle-to-Load capability is standard, allowing the Sealion 7 to power external devices from its battery.
Buying
The Sealion 7 is a strong proposition in the premium electric SUV segment; BYD’s Blade Battery safety advantages, competitive pricing below equivalent Hyundai and Kia models, and genuine interior space. As a recent UK arrival, service network coverage should be verified. The BYD eight-year battery warranty is among the most generous in the class. Software maturity on the infotainment is the primary area where established competitors maintain an advantage.
