BMW X6 Generation / Variant Price Guides
The BMW X6 single-handedly invented the coupe-SUV segment when it launched in 2008. This novel chimaera attracted equal measures of commercial success and critical derision. The concept of a raked roofline on a large SUV seemed absurd. Until the sales figures came in, at which point every competitor launched an equivalent within five years. Three generations have refined the formula.
The Range
The E71 launched in 2008; the F16 from 2014; the G06 from 2019. All use X5 underpinnings with a raked rear roofline and reduced boot volume. The xDrive50i V8 and the diesel variants cover most of the range.
Buying
The X6 commands a premium over the equivalent X5 purely for its styling – the mechanical specification is essentially identical. Choose the X6 if the roofline matters; the X5 if practicality does.
