The U10 X2, launched in 2024, is a substantially different car from the F39 it replaced. It is larger, more distinctive in design, and offering the fully electric iX2 in M50 form as its performance flagship at 449bhp from twin electric motors.
The Car
The U10 uses updated petrol and diesel engines with mild-hybrid assistance alongside the plug-in hybrid and fully electric iX2 variants. The exterior design is more dramatic than the F39, with a longer bonnet and more pronounced rear haunch. The M35i continues with 300bhp. The iX1 and U10 X2 share their platform but offer different body style preferences.
Buying
Current production. The iX2 M50 is the outstanding specification; 449bhp from twin motors in a compact coupe-SUV. The M35i suits those who prefer combustion. The BMW U10 X2 is too new for meaningful reliability data.
