Bentley Continental R Price Guide

typical price 14 October, 2026
The Continental R of 1991 to 2003 was the first new Bentley body in over two decades. A proper purpose-designed coupé rather than a saloon variant, styled by John Heffernan and Ken Greenley with a drama and elegance that the Turbo R’s boxy body could never provide. It was the car that convinced a new generation of wealthy buyers that Bentley was a serious marque in its own right.
The Car
The Continental R used the 6,750cc turbocharged V8 initially producing 385bhp, eventually rising to 420bhp. The low, wide coupé body seated four adults in genuine comfort. Later developments produced the Continental T’s short-wheelbase version with 426bhp, wider bodywork, and handling that finally gave the Continental genuine sports car credentials to match its appearance. The Azure convertible was derived from the Continental R platform.
Buying
The Continental T is the driver’s choice; shorter, lower, and significantly more alive than the standard car. The standard R is the GT choice. Both benefit from the established Turbo R knowledge base and Bentley heritage support. Rust and hydraulic system maintenance are the primary concerns.
