Bentley Continental GT Generation / Variant Price Guides
The Continental GT is the car that reinvented Bentley. Launched in 2003 on a platform co-developed with Volkswagen Group, it brought genuine volume production to Crewe for the first time, democratised the Bentley name for a new generation, and in doing so saved the company’s financial future. Four generations have followed, each more sophisticated than the last.
The Platform
All Continental GT generations use Volkswagen Group architecture. Originally this was the Phaeton platform, later the MSB architecture developed with Porsche. This gives the GT access to the best engineering resources in the premium car world, at the cost of some of the bespoke character that defined earlier Bentleys. In practice, the GT’s Bentley-specific content (hand-stitched leather, diamond-turned controls, hand-polished veneers) is substantial enough that the platform origins rarely feel apparent.
Buying
Choose a generation by budget. The First Generation offers the deepest depreciation and, therefore, the most accessible GT ownership. The current car is the finest GT produced.
