Bentley Arnage Generation / Variant Price Guides

The Bentley Arnage was the most significant new Bentley in a generation: the first car developed entirely by Bentley following Volkswagen Group’s acquisition in 1998, and the final expression of the 6,750cc V8 that had served the marque since 1959. It also briefly used a BMW engine, a chapter quickly closed when the BMW supply agreement ended.

The Range

Two engines defined the Arnage’s life. The 4.4 V8 Green Label of 1998–1999 used a BMW-sourced 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8. This decision was forced by VW Group’s desire to meet emissions standards that the old 6¾-litre could not. When the BMW supply relationship ended following VW’s acquisition of the Bentley brand, the 6¾ V8 Red Label arrived in 1999 with the updated twin-turbo version of the original engine, producing 400bhp initially and rising to 500bhp in the final Arnage T.

Buying

Always buy the 6¾-litre Red Label over the BMW-engined Green Label. The Red Label is the real Arnage. The Arnage T with its 500bhp is the performance pinnacle. Values have come down substantially, making this an accessible large Bentley.
