Audi S5 Generation / Variant Price Guides
The Audi S5 is the performance A5, sitting in the range above the S-line equipped A5 but below the RS5. It has always offered the right combination of performance and daily usability, in Coupé, Sportback, and Cabriolet body styles, without the RS’s running costs or track-day intent.
The Range
Three generations cover 2007 to the present. The B8 used a naturally aspirated 4.2 V8, a supercharged 3.0 V6, and a 3.0 TDI diesel across its run. The B9 standardised on a turbocharged 3.0 TFSI V6. The current generation continues the turbocharged V6. A Cabriolet featured on the B8 generation; from B9 onwards the range settled on Coupé and Sportback.
Buying
The B8 V8 Coupé is the collector’s S5. The B9 3.0 TFSI Sportback is the practical choice. All S5s hold their value better than standard A5s and are worth seeking out over an equivalently equipped non-S model.
