Audi RS5 Generation / Variant Price Guides
The Audi RS5 is the performance A5 — a sports coupé, Sportback, and Cabriolet that takes the RS4‘s mechanicals and wraps them in a body that prioritises style over practicality. For buyers who want the RS performance but can live without the Avant’s boot, it is the definitive Audi performance coupé.
The Range
Three generations cover 2010 to the present. The original B8 generation used a naturally aspirated 4.2-litre V8 – the last NA V8 in any Audi RS model. The B9 generation switched to the 2.9 TFSI twin-turbo V6 shared with the RS4. Both are available as Coupé and Sportback; the Cabriolet was available on the B8 only. All use quattro and S tronic dual-clutch transmission.
Buying
The B8 V8 is the one with emotional appeal and appreciating values. The B9 is the more capable daily driver. Both Coupé and Sportback are desirable while the Sportback is more practical, the Coupé more dramatic.
