The data above is based on information retrieved from actual, real-world Audi RS4 sales listings. Our AI agents try to correct obvious mistakes sellers make, such as incorrect engine capacities, but some may still fall through.

The B9 RS4, launched in 2018, made the switch to a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6; the same engine used in the Porsche Panamera and Macan GTS. It sacrificed the V8’s character for broader capability, and the result was a faster, more efficient RS4 that many RS buyers found harder to love precisely because of how easy it was to drive.

The Car

The B9 RS4 uses the EA839 2.9 TFSI producing 450bhp with 600Nm, eight-speed torque converter automatic, and quattro with a sport differential. Available as Avant and Saloon. 0–62mph in 4.1 seconds. Carbon ceramic brakes optional. The RS4 Competition launched in 2022 with 510bhp, adding wider tracks and stiffer suspension for sharper performance.

Buying

The B9 RS4 Competition is the definitive specification of the generation. Values are firming as the last new RS4 before electrification becomes a possibility. The Audi 2.9 TFSI is a well-proven engine shared with Porsche — reliability concerns are minimal with correct servicing. The Avant is the obvious choice; the Saloon is rarer and undervalued.
