Audi RS4 8E (2006–2008) Price Guide
-
typical price 17 October, 2026
The B7 RS4, produced from 2006 to 2008, switched to a naturally aspirated 4.2-litre V8 producing 420bhp; the same engine as the B6/B7 S4 but tuned for more output and a higher 8,250rpm redline that gave the car a supercar-like top-end character.
The Car
The B7 RS4 used a high-revving 4,163cc V8 making 420bhp with peak power at 7,800rpm. Available as Avant estate, saloon, and Cabriolet. Six-speed manual only. The exhaust note approaching the redline is one of the finest sounds in the performance car world. Quattro with rear-biased torque split and available optional ceramic composite brakes. The RS4 B7 is the last truly analogue RS Audi: no DSG, no launch control, no electronic torque vectoring.
Buying
The B7 RS4 Avant is an appreciating modern classic. Manual only, and better for it. The V8 timing chain tensioners need careful monitoring and documented replacement history. The Audi carbon ceramic brake option significantly reduces unsprung weight and is worth paying a premium for on a car that will be used hard. The Cabriolet RS4 is very rare.
