The Audi Q6 e-tron uses the new PPE (Premium Platform Electric) architecture co-developed with Porsche, offering a significant step up in performance, charging speed, and technology over the Q4 e-tron. It is the first Audi to use 800-volt electrical architecture, enabling rapid charging at up to 270kW.
The Car
Launched in 2024, the Q6 e-tron is available with single and dual-motor layouts producing between 252bhp and 387bhp, with an 83kWh (net) battery providing a WLTP range of up to 388 miles in the most efficient specification. The 800V system can add 160 miles of range in just ten minutes of charging. The SQ6 e-tron raises output to 489bhp. The interior introduces Audi’s new digital architecture with an optional passenger-side display.
Buying
Too new for long-term reliability data, though the PPE platform is engineered to Porsche’s standards. The 800V charging architecture is a genuine advantage for long-distance use. The Q6 e-tron competes with the BMW iX3, Mercedes EQE SUV, and the Porsche Macan Electric with which it shares its platform.
