The Audi e-tron GT is the most driver-focused electric Audi yet. A low-slung, four-door fastback that shares its J1 platform with the Porsche Taycan and delivers genuinely engaging performance from twin electric motors and an 800-volt electrical architecture. It is the electric car that Audi drivers who care about driving actually want.
The Car
Launched in 2021, the e-tron GT uses the PPE-predecessor J1 platform shared with the Porsche Taycan. The standard car produces 476bhp; the RS e-tron GT raises this to 598bhp and 630bhp in overboost. The 93kWh battery supports 270kW DC charging; adding 100km of range in approximately five minutes. Rear-wheel steering, two-chamber air suspension, and torque vectoring across the rear axle are all standard. Available as Gran Turismo four-door only.
Buying
The e-tron GT has depreciated from new pricing, making used examples appear like strong value. Battery health on well-maintained examples has been impressive. The 800V architecture is the key charging advantage – find a 350kW charger and the e-tron GT adds range at a rate that makes long-distance travel genuinely practical. The Audi e-tron GT is the electric car that replaces the R8 in the emotional hierarchy of the range.
