Audi Coupe Generation / Variant Price Guides

The Audi Coupe was the stylish two-door fastback that sat above the Audi 80 in the range from 1980 to 1996. It offered the same mechanical sophistication as the 80 (including Quattro from 1984) in a more elegant body that eschewed rear-seat practicality for visual drama. The S2 Coupe with its turbocharged five-cylinder is one of the most desirable Audis of the era.

The Range

Two generations (the B2 and B3/B4) cover 1980 to 1996. The B2 Coupe shared its platform with the B2 Audi 80 and introduced the Quattro option. The B3/B4 evolved the formula with a more modern body and the 20-valve five-cylinder engines. The S2 with 220bhp is the performance flagship and has become a serious collector’s car.

Buying

The S2 Coupe is the one that commands serious interest; Quattro-derived turbocharged five-cylinder, all-wheel drive, and the attractive Coupe body. Standard Coupe models are affordable and practical two-door classics. Rust is the primary concern on B2 generation cars; B3/B4 galvanised bodies are more resistant.
