Audi 100 C4 (1991–1994) Price Guide
-
typical price 14 October, 2026
The C4 Audi 100, produced from 1991 to 1994, was the final 100 before the range was rebadged as the A6. It is effectively the first A6; the transition from numbered to lettered Audi nomenclature happened mid-model-cycle. The C4 introduced the first V6 engine in the range and the S4/S6 performance variants.
The Car
The C4 used 2.0, 2.3, and 2.8-litre engines alongside a 1.9 and 2.5 TDI diesel. The 2.8 V6 is the premium petrol choice. The S4 used a 4.2-litre V8 (the same engine that would power the early A8) in the saloon and Avant. The C4 shares significant components with the B4 Audi 80 and the early A4 platform. The Avant is the most practical and desirable body style.
Buying
The S4 V8 Avant is the collector’s C4. The 2.8 V6 Quattro Avant is the practical driver’s car. All C4 models benefit from galvanised bodywork and shared-platform parts availability with the contemporary 80 and early A4. The Audi C4 100/S4 is one of the most undervalued large Audis of the era.
