Audi 100 Generation / Variant Price Guides

The Audi 100 was Audi’s executive saloon from 1968 to 1994. The car above the 80 in the range, competing with the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-Class. In its C3 generation it achieved a 0.30 Cd, the lowest drag coefficient of any production saloon when it launched in 1982, and in its final C4 form it became the first A6. The 100 is the forgotten foundation of Audi’s premium executive ambitions.

The Range

Four generations (C1 through C4) cover 1968 to 1994. The C3 is the landmark: its 0.30 Cd coefficient in 1982 was a world record for a production car, achieved through a body designed entirely around aerodynamic efficiency. The 100 Avant estate was available from the C2 onwards and is the most sought-after body style.

Buying

The C3 and C4 generations are the most usable and best-supported. The C4 is mechanically closely related to the B4 Audi 80, which eases parts sourcing considerably. The C3 Avant is a charming classic estate. Any 100 with Quattro is more desirable than the equivalent front-wheel-drive car.
