The DB12 is Aston Martin’s current grand tourer, launched in 2023 as the replacement for the DB11. Aston calls it the world’s first super tourer in its marketing blurbs. We know it as a GT car with genuine supercar performance.
The Car
The DB12 uses a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 sourced from Mercedes-AMG, producing 671bhp — a substantial increase over the DB11 V8’s 503bhp. An eight-speed ZF automatic drives the rear wheels. The bonded aluminium structure is evolved from the VH platform that has underpinned Astons since the DB9. Available as coupe and Volante. The interior is a significant step forward, with a new infotainment system developed with Mercedes’ technology.
The DB12 continues the grand touring lineage that stretches back through the DB11, DB9, DB7, and ultimately to the DB4 that established the template in 1958.
