The Alvis TA 21 introduced the new 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine that would power Alvis cars for the remainder of the company’s passenger car production. It was the foundation on which all subsequent post-war Alvis models were built.

The Car

Produced from 1950 to 1953, the TA 21 used the new 2,993cc six-cylinder producing 93bhp in a body by Mulliner (saloon) or Tickford (drophead). Park Ward also supplied bodies. Around 1,313 were built. The TA 21 was the first Alvis to carry the characteristic look that would evolve through the TD, TE, and TF series.

Today

The TA 21 is the entry point to the post-war six-cylinder Alvis range. Values sit below the later TD, TE, and TF models but the mechanical specification is essentially the same. Alvis support through Red Triangle is comprehensive. The TA 21 shares its engine with all subsequent cars in the range.
