The Alvis TA 14 was the first post-war Alvis, produced in 1946–1947 as the company resumed civilian production after the war. It used a pre-war 1,892cc overhead-valve four-cylinder engine in a conservative but well-made body by Carbodies.
The Car
The TA 14 was essentially pre-war engineering in a mildly updated body. Four-door saloon and drophead coupe body styles were offered. Around 3,310 were built. The TA 14 gave way to the TA 21 when Alvis’s new six-cylinder engine was ready in 1950.
Today
The TA 14 is probably the most affordable post-war Alvis. The four-cylinder engine is simple and well-supported. The Alvis parts operation at Red Triangle covers the TA 14 alongside all subsequent models.
