Alpina B6 Price Guide

The Alpina B6 is a grand tourer built on the BMW 6 Series, and it is the most indulgent interpretation of that already indulgent formula. Where the 6 Series was already large, fast, and comfortable, the B6 took each of those qualities and amplified them — adding more power, a higher top speed, and the kind of bespoke interior finish that Alpina’s Buchloe craftspeople have been delivering for over fifty years.

The Range

The B6 designation has appeared across several BMW 6 Series generations. The E63-based B6 S of 2005–2010 used a supercharged 4.8-litre V8 producing 507bhp. The F12-based B6 BiTurbo from 2011 switched to BMW’s twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre N63 V8, producing 540bhp initially and later 600bhp, available as a coupé, convertible, and Gran Coupé four-door. Top speed was electronically limited to 322km/h on the coupé — one of the highest limits ever fitted to a production grand tourer. The interior specification was customisable through Alpina’s bespoke programme, with Lavalina leather, hand-finished wood veneer, and the Alpina speedometer reading to 340km/h as standard features.

What to Know

The N63 V8 requires the same attentive oil-level monitoring and cooling maintenance as in the B5. The E63 supercharger belt needs periodic inspection. Convertible B6s have more complex roof mechanisms that require attention with age. The sheer size of the B6 makes it a challenging car to park in urban settings and places high demands on tyres and brakes. All variants benefit from Alpina-approved servicing and Zertifikat documentation.

Buying

The F12 BiTurbo coupé in a discreet colour with full Alpina history represents the B6 at its most compelling as a used proposition. The Gran Coupé offers four-door practicality at a modest premium. E63 S models are affordable entry points into the B6 world but require careful inspection of the supercharger and cooling system. The B6 occupies a unique position between the sportier B5 and the full luxury of Alpina’s larger saloons.
