The Alfa Romeo 2000 designation covers several distinct models across Alfa’s history: the 102-series saloon and coupe of the late 1950s and the later Berlina saloon based on the Giulia 105 platform. Both used versions of Alfa’s twin-cam four-cylinder in two-litre form.
102-series (1958–1961)
The 102-series 2000 was a six-cylinder saloon and Bertone-styled Sprint coupe that bridged the gap between the 1900 and the 2600 range. The Sprint is the more desirable variant, with Bertone’s elegant coupe bodywork. These are rare and sought-after collector’s cars.
105-series Berlina (1971–1977)
The 2000 Berlina was the saloon version of the 105-series range, sharing its twin-cam engine with the 2000 GT Veloce coupe and the Spider 2000. It was a spacious, comfortable four-door with the same mechanical character as its sportier siblings. Production ended in 1977. The Berlina is the most affordable way into 2000-series 105 ownership, as the coupe and Spider command significantly higher prices.
