Alfa Romeo 1900 M Price Guide

The 1900 M is the official designation for the Alfa Romeo Matta, the military off-road vehicle built from 1951 to 1960. The M stands for “Matta” (meaning “crazy” in Italian — a reference to the vehicle’s ability to tackle terrain that would defeat conventional cars). Around 2,050 were built for the Italian Army using a detuned version of the 1900 twin-cam engine.

Today

Surviving examples are scarce and mostly in the hands of military vehicle collectors. The twin-cam engine links it mechanically to the broader 1900 saloon and coupe family, though the chassis and bodywork are entirely purpose-built for military use.
