The Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari was the first 695 special edition and the one that established the template for every limited-run 695 that followed. Launched in 2010, it was a collaboration between Abarth and Ferrari that gave the tiny 500-based car a surprisingly credible connection to Maranello.
Specification
Limited to 1,000 units worldwide, the Tributo Ferrari was finished exclusively in Rosso Corsa with a Corsa Grey racing stripe — the same livery as Ferrari’s competition cars. The 180bhp 1.4 T-Jet engine was paired with paddle-shift steering wheel controls for the standard five-speed manual gearbox — a cosmetic addition rather than a sequential unit. A Garrett turbo replaced the standard IHI unit. Ferrari-designed exhaust tips and a carbon fibre rear diffuser provided visual connection to the Prancing Horse. Interior trim featured Alcantara and carbon fibre with Ferrari-style red stitching. Numbered dashboard plaque.
Buying
As the original 695 special edition, the Tributo Ferrari has a significance that extends beyond its specification. Values have appreciated as the car’s place in Abarth’s modern history has become clearer. The Rosso Corsa paint and Corsa Grey stripe are unmistakable. Verify the numbered plaque and equipment list against the official specification. The Tributo Ferrari preceded the Biposto and set the template for every subsequent limited edition. The 500 Abarth that it was based on as the most extreme expression of the 500-based Abarth concept, though the two occupy very different positions — style versus substance.
