The pre-facelift modern 595, produced from 2012 to 2015, was the first generation to carry the revived 595 name. It established the formula — turbocharged 1.4, raucous exhaust, tiny dimensions — that would carry the brand for the next decade.
The Range
Initially offered in 140bhp (base), 160bhp (Turismo), and 180bhp (Competizione) forms. The 160bhp Turismo used the same Garrett turbo that the post-facelift car would adopt across the range. The pre-facelift car is identifiable by its round rear lights and older-style dashboard with a smaller infotainment screen.
Buying
Pre-facelift cars are the most affordable modern 595s. The earlier 140bhp base car used an IHI turbo that is less responsive than the Garrett unit in higher-spec models. Interior quality is a step behind the facelift cars, with a smaller screen and cheaper-feeling plastics. The same mechanical checks apply: cambelt, clutch, MTA avoidance. Pre-facelift Competiziones with the 180bhp engine and Sabelt seats are strong value for money as a used buy.
