The Abarth 500e C is the convertible version of the electric 500e, combining the same 155bhp motor and 42kWh battery with a retracting fabric roof. It is one of very few electric performance convertibles on the market.
The Car
The roof retracts electrically while the side pillars stay in place, exactly as on the petrol 595C. The heavier convertible body means a modest range reduction compared to the hatchback — expect around 140 miles in real-world mixed driving. The same synthesised exhaust sound system is fitted. The chassis stiffening and recalibrated suspension carry over from the hatchback 500e. Charging supports up to 85kW DC rapid.
Buying
Commands a premium over the hatchback. Check the roof fabric and seals carefully. The same battery health and software update considerations apply as for all electric vehicles. For buyers who want open-air electric motoring with the Abarth scorpion badge, there is genuinely nothing else like it.
