The Citroën C3 Picasso was the compact MPV that bridged the gap between the C3 supermini and the larger C4 Picasso. It was a high-roofed five-door with practical packaging, large glass areas, and the front-seat storage that Citroën has always excelled at providing. The 1.6 HDi is the recommended engine.

The Car

Produced from 2008 to 2017, the C3 Picasso used 1.4 VTi, 1.6 VTi petrol and 1.4 HDi, 1.6 HDi diesel engines. The high seating position and near-vertical windscreen provided excellent visibility. Headroom and practicality were superior to comparable five-door hatchbacks. The 1.6 HDi 92bhp was the sales-dominant powertrain.

Buying

The 1.6 HDi is the practical choice. Avoid the 1.4 HDi as the 1.6 is significantly better in pretty much every respect.
